From the Ual Aneccop Foundation we are very pleased to be able to collaborate and contribute our grain of sand with this social innovation project that aims to facilitate the technical and entrepreneurial training of a group of 5 young people in vulnerable situations in a way that favors their personal, social and labor development.
Agricultural activity has been a source of wealth and growth for Almeria's society, which has been transformed and modernized along with it. In this project we will apply the innovative character of Almeria's agriculture to the social field in order to improve the living conditions of young people at risk of exclusion through their training.
To achieve all this, the young people will be trained along two clear lines, the first one by acquiring regulated knowledge by enrolling in a Intermediate Level Training Cycle called "Agroecological Production" in the IES Sol de Portocarrero High Schoolcombined with an entrepreneurial program of experimental training which will be developed in our farm (Finca Experimental UAL-ANECOOP), where these young people lead the management and exploitation of an agricultural plot of 500 square meters.
The innovative character of this project lies in the direct practice from the beginning of the project and increases progressively over the months. This facilitates the application of the theoretical knowledge acquired by the young people in such a practical field as agriculture. In addition, their technical training will be complemented by training in business management, which will equip them with the resources to become entrepreneurs in the field of agriculture at the end of their training.
This project has just started to roll, it is only a few months old, but the young people express the level of qualification they are acquiring and their interest in the near future to be able to work in a qualified position and/or manage their own farm.
We would like to thank IES Sol de Portocarrero and Obra Social La Caixa Almería for their predisposition and collaboration in bringing this project to light.
Undoubtedly, this networking will achieve the project's objective with these 5 young people. It is also expected to have a motivating and multiplying effect on the community in which the young people live. Thus demonstrating that training and individual and collective effort can enable people to provide themselves with the resources to live in dignity.
This project motivates, empowers and empowers in a real way young people in vulnerable situations and areas of social exclusion who express their interest in improving their future options and the desire to be part of the change in their neighborhood.
